William Blair IM launches global leaders fund

Chandan Khanna and Hugo Scott-Gall are co-portfolio managers

William Blair Investment Management has launched the Global Leaders Select strategy.

The firm has hired Chandan Khanna to run it as co-portfolio manager alongside Hugo Scott-Gall, head of the firm’s global equity team.

Khanna brings more than 15 years of experience as a public equity investor to the role. Most recently, he served as senior partner and portfolio manager at Eighteen48 Partners, managing the Sixteen02 Global Equity fund.

The William Blair fund has a concentrated portfolio of 25-35 global companies which the managers consider to be leaders. The style will combine quality and growth characteristics.

Global Leaders Select combines William Blair’s established global equities capabilities with an investment approach that Khanna has applied since 2021.

The fund has been seeded with $225m in a separately managed account.
