London-based investment boutique Oberon has hired WH Ireland investment manager Mark Burtenshaw.
At WH Ireland, he was responsible for advising a portfolio of private clients while also heading the firm’s London office. With 18 years in industry, Burtenshaw has also held roles at Morgan Stanley and RBC Wealth Management.
Burtenshaw said: “At a time when many investment management companies seem to be wholly focussed on gathering more and more clients, I am looking forward to offering my clients the personalised service that is the cornerstone of the Oberon offering.”
Oberon CEO Simon McGivern added: “We are delighted that Oberon continues to attract the talent and experience of the ilk of Mark. We provide our investment professionals with the platform to give their clients top class investment performance and service. We are talking to more managers than ever before, who are simply not finding they are getting that with their current employer and are attracted to what Oberon has to offer.”
The move follows WH Ireland investment manager Rob Lambert’s departure from the firm earlier this week.
Steven Beaney and Martin Guilbert left the wealth manager in November last year to set up Silverwood Wealth Management, later joined at the start-up by investment manager George Holloway, also of WH Ireland.
In February, Paul Sheehan also made the move from WH Ireland to Oberon.
