Nomura Asset Management has appointed Magashlin Chetty (pictured) as an executive director and assistant portfolio manager.

Based in London, he joins the firm’s emerging markets corporate bond team led by Meno Stroemer.

Chetty’s most recent role was at Vanguard, where he was a senior emerging market analyst focused on issuers in Asia and Africa.

He also supported several emerging market fixed income strategies during a stint at Fisch Asset Management.

In addition to emerging markets, Chetty will support the management team on the Irish-domiciled €369.1m (£320.6m) Nomura European High Yield Bond fund.

The strategy has been managed by Steven Rosenthal since 2017. According to FE Analytics, it is a top quartile performer in its sector over the last year, returning 10.31%.
