Nomura Asset Management has named Matt Evans as its new business development director for the UK and Ireland intermediary team.

In his new role, Evans will report to head of intermediary distribution, UK and Ireland Ben Sackitey, focusing on the southern region.

Sackitey said: “The UK & Ireland intermediary market is central to our growth ambitions, and we see a significant opportunity to expand our reach, deepen our client relationships and strengthen our distribution platform.

“Matt’s market knowledge and client focus will be invaluable as we enter the next phase of our development.”

In a post on his LinkedIn, Evans said he was “delighted” to join the team and start the next part of his career.

“I’m really looking forward to getting out and about over the coming weeks and months, catching up with familiar faces, meeting new ones and introducing clients to the breadth of investment capabilities at Nomura.”

Evans has been in the industry since 2008, having started as a broker sales executive at Jupiter before moving to Janus Henderson Investors in 2014, where he focused on intermediary clients across the South of England.

Most recently, he served as business development director at Downing since March 2023.
