Morningstar Indexes has appointed Robert Edwards as its global head of product and research. In his new role, he will oversee the creation of index solutions for investors globally.
Edwards, who has worked at Morningstar Indexes for eight years, was most recently the firm’s managing director of EMEA indexes. Prior to this, he was head of global sustainability index product development.

Edwards is replacing Rolf Agather, who was recently promoted to head of strategy for Morningstar Indexes. Agather will be responsible for developing the business’s strategy and growth plans.
Commenting on his appointment, Edwards said: “This is an exciting time for both Morningstar Indexes and the broader index industry as investors’ needs continue to evolve across asset classes and markets.
“I look forward to working with our global team to drive innovation and help shape the next phase of growth for Morningstar Indexes.”
