BlackRock has launched a liquid alternatives UCITS vehicle as part of its Strategic Funds range.
The BSF Tactical Opportunities Plus fund is a macro strategy, which aims to provide uncorrelated returns and shield against volatility during times of turbulence.
Managed by BlackRock’s Global Tactical Asset Allocation team, it will invest in a combination of stocks, bonds and currencies across more than 25 countries.

The fund builds on BlackRock’s existing Tactical Opportunities strategy which, since its launch in 2016, has achieved positive returns every year. Tactical Opportunities Plus is designed to achieve higher returns and “greater capital efficiency”, according to the firm.
Tom Becker, lead portfolio manager of the Tactical Opportunities Plus fund, said: “In a world where traditional, long-only diversifiers have become less reliable and macro dispersion is elevated, investors are increasingly looking to liquid alternatives and macro strategies to deliver consistent, uncorrelated returns in portfolios.
“The BSF Tactical Opportunities Plus fund is designed to offer clients greater return potential, with the same investment process and disciplined risk management that has powered the Tactical Opportunities strategy for over 10 years.
“We believe this new offering is well positioned to deliver for clients in this regime of high macro dispersion across global markets.”
