The London Stock Exchange Group has announced the launch of LSE 24, a new trading venue for digital, algorithmic and agentic trading.
The new service will support 24/5 (24 hours, five days a week) trading, designed to give investors greater flexibility in responding to market events and liquidity across time zones. It will operate between 5pm and 7:50am with a 30-minute pause between 6:30pm and 7pm, according to the announcement.
Meanwhile, the London Stock Exchange’s main market will continue with its usual trading hours.
LSE 24 will be made available for early client testing by the end of 2026, with ETPs (Exchange Traded Products) as the first asset class in the first half of 2027.
The new service will also use AI and agentic connectivity to allow clients to interact with market data and execution workflows in “more automated and intuitive ways” without sacrificing the governance of a regulated market.
Julia Hoggett, CEO of LSE and head of digital and securities markets at LSEG: “The launch of LSE 24 marks an important step in the evolution of our markets, providing clients with greater flexibility beyond traditional trading hours and supporting more digital, connected global markets.”
