Former River Global fund manager duo George Ensor and Mayan Uthayakumar will join Jupiter from Liontrust, it has been confirmed.
Ensor, manager of the River UK Microcap trust, announced his resignation from the firm last month.
The two are set to join Jupiter Asset Management, although the exact timeline is unclear.
Commenting on the departure, a Liontrust spokesperson said: “Liontrust will be announcing replacements for George Ensor and Mayan Uthayakumar in the next few weeks.
“In the meantime, George and Mayan will continue managing two small-cap funds and River UK Micro Cap for the foreseeable future.”
Ensor joined the River Global team in 2014 as a UK equity analyst, before becoming a portfolio manager in 2018. Over the course of his career, he managed the Liontrust UK Listed Smaller Companies, Liontrust Institutional UK Listed Smaller Companies and Liontrust River UK Micro Cap Limited funds.
He has delivered an 11.6% total return to investors over his career, according to data from FE fundinfo.
Uthayakumar joined the firm in 2015 as a portfolio manager and analyst, having previously worked at firms such as Sanford C. Bernstein and Goldman Sachs.
