Edmond de Rothschild has appointed Alain Krief as global chief investment officer, effective 24August, while Charles Lilford will join as co-head of equities, as of 28 September.
Krief has been with the team since 2019, when he joined as global head of fixed income responsible for around €12bn in assets. He has over 30 years of experience in fixed income and credit markets, including a stint as global head of credit at BNP Paribas Asset Management.
In his new role, he will be based in Paris and report to Christophe Caspar, global CEO of Edmond de Rothschild AM.
Meanwhile, Lilford joins as co-head of equities and senior portfolio manager on the firm’s flagship Big Data strategy, reporting to Krief in Paris.
The firm’s Big Data fund has roughly €3.4bn in AUM, and is an Article 8 SDFR fund investing in companies “at the heart of the data revolution”
Lilford brings more than 20 years of experience in asset management, across a range of sectors and industries such as energy, industrials and technology. Before joining the team, he was a manager on the BlackRock team for more than 10 years, including a period as manager of the £5.1bn BGF Sustainable Energy fund.
Christophe Caspar, CEO of Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management, said the team was “delighted” with both appointments.
“His [Krief’s] leadership skills and sound investment track record make him the natural choice for this role.
“Charles’ impressive track record in bottom-up stock picking, recognised thematic investing expertise and high‑conviction investment approach will benefit our Big Data strategy, further strengthen our Equities franchise and prove invaluable for clients.”
