In a statement issued by Coram Asset Management, co-founder, James Sullivan, said: “It comes with awful sadness to announce the death of our dear friend and colleague. Martin passed away overnight after a short battle with cancer, which he dealt with in typically great spirits, and was surrounded by his family at the end.

He added: “We can take great comfort from the fact Martin’s legacy and our memories of him will never fade. We will all miss him greatly and our thoughts are with his wife Brenda and his two sons, Matthew and Daniel, at this time.”

A well-known and highly regarded figure within the UK financial sector since he began his fund management career in the 1980s, Gray joined Coram on 1 January 2015, after leaving his role as managing director of the Miton Asset Management in June 2014, a role he held since 1997.
