Amova Asset Management president and CEO Stefanie Drews has been appointed executive officer and global asset management officer of the firm’s parent group, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Group – now named TG.
Drews, who has been at Amova AM (formerly Nikko Asset Management) since 2014, will assume the new role from 1 April this year. She will report directly to Kazuya Oyama, who will also assume the role of TG President and CEO from April.

Drews’ new responsibilities will include representing the group’s asset management business, as well as making key decisions for the business arm alongside TG’s executive officer.
The appointment will not impact the management structure of Amova AM.
Drews, who previously worked at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, has almost 30 years of investment experience, having also spent 13 years as a managing director within Morgan Stanley’s private wealth management business.
Tokyo-based Amova AM rebranded from Nikko Asset Management in September last year.
