Rachel Baxter, former Vanguard Global Bond index portfolio manager, has been promoted to European head of investment management at the firm.
In her new role, Baxter (pictured) will be responsible for portfolio management, investment research, capital markets and trading alongside the European Bond index team. In total, the European team at Vanguard is responsible for around $615bn in assets.
Previously, Baxter also served as co-head of the US bond index team, where she helped manage a $1.4trn AUM portfolio across funds, ETFs and fund of funds. She has 10 years’ experience in various roles on the BlackRock team, having joined the firm as a fixed income credit analyst in June 2016.

“She brings a rare combination of investment expertise, leadership experience and a deep understanding of our clients’ needs.”
Baxter will succeed Geoff Parish, who has become the global head of fixed income indexing at Vanguard.
