Created with the aim of making the products more accessible and transparent, SPGO is an independent service put together by Phil Taylor and Ben Murison, two specialists in the structured products space.

Taylor was formerly product specialist at Barclays Capital and Murison was previously vice president of structured products for the UK at Royal Bank of Scotland.

The platform was developed in consultation with some of the big structured product providers, which are available to buy from SPGO on launch.

Nomura, Morgan Stanley and Jubilee, among other providers’ products can all be accessed now.

Taylor, said: "We aim to bring unprecedented access and simplicity to the strucutured product market to ensure structured products can finally be compared credibily side by side with managed funds and ETFs."

Among the services available on the platform are search and comparison tools, a single source for price feeds and performance monitoring tools.

There are no added fees for buying the products on SPGO.

Alexandre Houpert, Societe Generale’s head of listed products UK and Northern Ireland, said: "In my opinion the SPGO platform correctly addresses IFAs’ needs and concerns.

"They offer all the tools needed to assess the suitability of investment solutions. IFAs will eventually be able to trade structured products in a much easier way than they currently do in a plan."
