Tyndall Investment Management has made three hires from financial services firm Walker Crips, appointing Dennis Cooper (pictured) and Mark Jenkins as investment directors, and Joe Holland as assistant investment manager.

Cooper began his career in the industry as a stockbroker at Robert Fleming & Co in 1991, and has held roles at NCL Investments and Savoy Investment Management. He joined Walker Crips in 2012.

Jenkins brings 35 years of experience to the role, having also began his career as a stockbroker. He became an investment director at Société Générale, and like Cooper, worked at Savoy Investment Management.

Holland joined Walker Crips in 2019 as a graduate within the firm’s private client practice.

Yvonne Shottle has also moved to Tyndall from Walker Crips as a secretary to the private client team.

Edward Allen, investment director and head of Tyndall’s private client practice, said that the division had grown steadily since launch six years ago: “[We] continue to attract talented individuals who seek to focus on delivering superior investment outcomes through a bespoke approach to client service.

“Dennis, Mark, Joe and Yvonne are a perfect fit within the culture we have built at Tyndall which embraces this philosophy.”

Alex Odd, Tyndall’s CEO, added: “The wealth management industry has become a hotbed of mergers and acquisitions, as businesses scale up their propositions with scant regard for the individuals whose money they are safeguarding.  As an employee-owned business, we seek to do things differently.

“We are founded on the belief that clients deserve personalised, active portfolio management coupled with first rate attention from their investment manager. Mark, Dennis and Joe share this vision, and we are confident that they will play an invaluable part both in Tyndall’s future success and that of our clients.”

The hires follow Tyndall’s recent appointment of investment manager James Bowes-Lyon from Investec Wealth & Investment, bringing the number of professionals in the private-client team to 17.
