In this newly created role Edwards will take responsibility for the firm’s investment management teams based in London, Liverpool and Birmingham.
Edwards will be based in Liverpool and will also sit on the group’s executive board.
Edwards joins from Julius Baer where he has been a managing director. Prior to this he was head of Barclays Wealth’s regional business in Manchester and Liverpool.
He has also held senior positions with Coutts and HSBC. Before entering the financial services industry he was a professional rugby league player.

Following completion of the firm’s recently announced acquisition of Ingenious Asset Management the combined group has £11.2bn of discretionary money under management.
