Based in Edinburgh, he will report to Laurent Frings, head of credit research, as part of SWIP’s UK and European credit team under the leadership of Daniel McKernan.
Tong will be responsible for industrial sector research activities, with a focus on maximising the return in fixed income funds.
He has over 25 years’ investment management experience and joins having worked at Alliance Trust for 16 years, most recently as a UK equity fund manager and desk head.
Prior to that he spent six years at General Accident where his roles included head of fixed interest and unitised funds.
