Spinks to join Saunders

Michael Spinks has been named co-manager on the Investec Diversified Growth Fund which has been headed up by Philip Saunders since the end of 2006.

Spinks joined the firm in August last year after eight years at Schroders, and is co-head of multi-asset.

The £80.4m fund invests in a range of global assets including equities, fixed interest instruments, cash and commodities. It also invests in alternative assets, but only Ucits funds will be considered.

The fund has performed better over the longer term, and is in the top quartile over five years. Over one and three years it is in the third and second quartile respectively. Its performance against its benchmark is shown in the graph below.

The UK accounts for the greatest proportion of assets in terms of region, 71.4%, while when sorted by assets US equities account for the highest percentage of funds, 19.6%.
