Job joined the firm earlier this week from Soros Fund Management, the US investment management firm founded by billionaire investor George Soros.
GAM said Job will strengthen the firm’s idea generation and positioning across asset classes with a particular focus on macro themes.
He will be based in the firm’s London office.
Tim Haywood, investment director and business unit head fixed income, said: “Owen’s appointment underlines our dedication to active asset management and to meeting, consistently, the aspirations of our clients. We welcome him to GAM.”
GAM’s absolute return fixed income team is now 19-strong in London and New York.
