Portfolio manager Francois Zagame has given the equity mandate to founder and chief investment officer Andrew Cupps. He will run the £1bn fund’s aggressive US equity exposure.
While he runs an all-cap investment strategy Cupps concentrates on the higher growth end of the market to generate alpha from opportunities in the perceived inefficiencies small and mid-cap segments.
His investment process is bottom-up, using fundamental research around valuation, technicals, timeliness, quality and company management.
Zagame commented: “Since adding Wellington Management to the Skandia Global Dynamic Equity Fund in June, we have been looking to supplement its appointment with another manager that is expected to deliver significant outperformance in a bull market.”
