Schroders co-head of investment and co-head of equities Rory Bateman (pictured) is set to retire in February 2025.

In a stock exchange announcement this morning (27 September), the Schroder British Opportunities Trust board said Bateman would continue his role as co-manager of the trust until his retirement.

He joined Schroders in 2008, and was head of the UK and European team from 2014 to 2019.

Bateman is currently co-head of investment alongside Johanna Kyrklund, with the pair responsible for listed investments within Schroders Asset Management.

Previously, he was a portfolio manager at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

In April, Schroders appointed Alex Tedder as co-head of equities alongside Bateman, who has been in the role since March 2019.

Justin Ward, chair of Schroder British Opportunities Trust , said: “Rory has made a significant contribution to the company, particularly in managing the public equity portfolio since our IPO in 2020 through his extensive experience in UK public equities. We wish him well for the future.”
