Schroders has unveiled a new Pan-European Equity platform, as part of ongoing efforts to restructure and streamline the business.
The new Pan-European platform will combine the UK and European core and alpha strategies. As part of the restructuring, Tom Wilson will be appointed as head of core pan-European Equities, responsible for the design, implementation and governance of investment strategy.
As part of efforts to streamline the firm’s approach to focus on products “best suited” to the client environment, Schroder’s will “no longer include a UK quality strategy as part of our product range”, according to a Schroder’s spokesperson.
As a result, Graham Ashby, manager of the UK quality range on the team, has announced his departure from the firm.
He has been with the team for six years and has been in the investment industry for more than three decades, having previously served in roles at Santander, Ignis Asset Management and LV= Asset Management, among others.
Commenting on the news on his social media, Ashby said: “It has been a privilege to work with so many thoughtful and talented colleagues, clients and company leaders during that time.
“I am particularly grateful for the opportunity to contribute beyond day-to-day portfolio management – including work around corporate governance, capital allocation, shareholder value and senior director dialogue.”
The Schroders spokesperson said: “We thank Graham for his significant contribution as a UK investor during his five years at Schroders and we wish him well for the future.”
