Schroders could be set to name chief financial officer Richard Oldfield as the successor to Peter Harrison, according to the Financial Times.
Harrison’s decision to retire next year was announced in April, prompting the search for a successor. He took on the role in 2016.
Oldfield joined the firm last October after two decades at PwC, where he held a range of senior roles.
According to the FT, Oldfield was competing for the position against two other internal candidates – though his appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
Schroders did not wish to comment.
