Kit Rees, former Bloomberg journalist, has joined Quilter as investment strategist, effective 26 October.
Reporting to chief investment officer Marcus Brookes, Rees will be responsible for representing Quilter’s investment strategy, views on financial markets and the economic environment externally.
She replaces Lindsay James, who departed from the firm earlier this year.
Rees will also work closely with Quilter’s portfolio managers and sub-advisory partners to further enhance research at the firm.
Prior to this, Rees spent eight years at Bloomberg, first as an equities reporter, and most recently as the editor of Markets Today.
Brookes said: “Since we created this role three years ago, it has been vital in communicating our investment strategy and demonstrating the significant expertise we have in the business.
“Kit has played a vital role in editorial decisions for Bloomberg, and those skills are going to be immensely useful in what we are looking to achieve.”
Rees added she was “really looking forward” to helping advisers and investors understand why market events matter, and how Quilter is navigating current volatility.
