Principal Global Investors has hired from Aberdeen Standard Investments for its chief executive and head of distribution in Europe.
Åsa Norrie (pictured) will be responsible for the European business and client strategy, based in London.
The appointment comes as Principal Global Investors Europe CEO Timothy Stumpff and international head of wealth advisory services Nick Lyster announce they will retire from the firm early this year.
Norrie has 25 years of industry experience. She previously spent 15 years at ASI, most recently as head of global strategic alliances responsible for clients across real estate, private equity and absolute return, as well as ESG funds in equity and fixed income.
She was also global head of early careers for distribution and marketing at ASI.
Prior to this, she was head of European business development at Standard Life Investments before it merged with Aberdeen Asset Management in 2017.
Norrie has also held senior positions at Britannic Asset Management and Edinburgh Fund Managers including as a portfolio manager.
