Pacific Asset Management has announced it is widening the availability of its proprietary data infrastructure tool for model portfolio services (MPS) to both advisers and discretionary fund managers (DFM).
IPX by Pacific has been designed to meet the increasing demand for co-manufactured investment solutions, for advisers and DFMS who want to retain control over investment strategy, while reducing the complexity and cost of multiple platform execution, reporting and oversight.
Originally launched as an in-house tool in 2020, Matthew Lamb, CEO of Pacific Asset Management, exclusively told our sister publication PA Adviser, that over $2.5bn is already run through IPX infrastructure.
“We built IPX to solve the challenges we faced ourselves,” he said. “Now, after years of refining it, we’re opening up that same infrastructure to others. It’s about helping firms deliver their own intellectual property efficiently, compliantly, and with confidence.”

He added: “As a business unencumbered by legacy systems, we were able to build our infrastructure from the ground up, giving advisers access to institutional-standard capabilities while allowing them to retain and express their own investment ideas.”
In addition to co-manufacturing, Lamb said another catalyst to opening up access to IPX was a number of approaches from large asset managers to purely license the technology themselves because they didn’t require Pacific’s execution capabilities in the same way a co-manufacturer might.
“What they needed was help around producing a daily price for the model, and help producing factsheets, attribution and risk management,” he said.
In 2025 alone IPX will produce over 12,000 branded factsheets for external firms, while it also provides access to AdviserLab, a unique web portal which Lamb said is effectively a control centre for a firm’s centralised investment proposition.

“We built IPX to help advisers and DFMs run and scale model portfolios and also deliver co-manufacturing in a scalable and consumer-duty friendly way,” he said.
“Ultimate consumer understanding is derived around data, it is the foundation of trust and transparency,” he added. “With IPX, the data model is entirely bespoke to how the adviser wants to build it, their ideas remain central and IPX does the heavy lifting.”
IPX by Pacific will be offered selectively to firms where there is a “natural cultural fit” and what Lamb described as a “scope for a lasting relationship”.
“We are not a mass market provider, so this is something where we will work strategically with maybe one or two firms a year,” he said.
Simon Lowans, chief marketing officer and Ross Wright, head of direct indexing & quantitative investments, will co-head IPX by Pacific.
