LGT Wealth Management’s 10th annual charity dodgeball tournament descended on the Armoury House with teams suited up in true style, ranging from Ken dolls to Cruella de Vil.

The tournament, held on 13 September, raised money for Demelza, an organisation providing care to children with serious and life-limiting health conditions. LGT Wealth Management raised £26,528 for the charity, which was matched by its committee to leave a £53,056 donation.

Ben Snee, CEO at LGT Wealth Management, said: “We look forward to playing again next year and increasing our fundraising target once again. Our charity partner, Demelza, deliver care to children facing serious or terminal illnesses, and it is our privilege to support the vital work that they do.”

The 550 attendees were encouraged to attend in fancy dress and many teams delivered: dodgeball teams showed up as superheroes, a continental breakfast, Cruella de Vil with her dalmatians, and throwback outfits from the 60s. The Deloitte team, however, took the cake as a team of Ken dolls.

The event, which had its first run in 2011, has evolved into a day of entertainment for its attendees. While 42 teams compete, spectators also enjoyed a barbeque and music before heading on to the afterparty at nearby Singer Tavern. As for the athletes, asset management group Aviva Investors were crowned champions of the tournament.

“This year was another fantastic dodgeball tournament and I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our attendees who help make the day what it is,” Snee said.
