Samuel, who started the role today, has more than 35 years’ experience in investment banking including time at Citigroup, Schroders and latterly Lazard. He continues to work as a senior adviser at Lazard.
Hector Sants, the FSA’s chief officer, said: "Will brings to his role considerable experience of the investment banking sector which will be vital to our work in this area.
