Kames Capital has promoted Mark Ferguson to head of UK wholesale distribution.
Ferguson (pictured) has been with Kames since 2014 as a wholesale business development manager, working with accounts across the north of the UK and Ireland.
The appointment comes four weeks after Portfolio Adviser revealed Kames head of distribution for UK and Ireland Mark Savage had left the company after 16 years.
Ferguson will lead Kames’ UK-based wholesale distribution team and continue to manage the relationships with clients across the UK and Ireland. He will also join the Aegon Asset Management EMEA distribution management team.
Before joining Kames, Ferguson spent more than 14 years at Ignis Asset Management as a director of fund sales where he managed relationships with UK advisory firms.
Kames Capital is set to be dropped as a brand this year as Aegon Asset Management seeks to merge its businesses into one global structure.
Aegon Asset Management head of EMEA distribution Jan Willem Siekman said: “Mark Ferguson is an experienced and highly-regarded member of the wholesale distribution team and we have the upmost confidence that his leadership will continue to drive our wholesale business.”
Ferguson said: “2020 is a unique year for the industry and we are committed to maintaining the excellent service our clients have come to expect and excited at the prospect of building relationships with new clients.”
