Both Yan and Gala will be based in London and report into Gary Greenberg, head of Hermes GEMs.
Prior to joining Hermes GEMs Yan was an equity research analyst with Nomura covering the energy, materials and healthcare sectors.
Meanwhile, Gala worked for Her Majesty’s Government as an assistant director in The Shareholder Executive, the in-house portfolio management and corporate finance arm of the UK government. Before this, he was a senior financial analyst at Morgan Stanley Investment Banking.

As at 31 December Hermes GEMs had $800m in assets under management.
