At Hearthstone, Bucher (pictured) will be responsible for driving the growth of the specialist fund manager and its residential property investment funds.

He joins from investment adviser Cardano, where he was co-head of defined contribution, overseeing all commercial aspects of its new defined contribution business.

Alan Collett, chairman of Hearthstone, said Bucher had a strong track record in growing fund management businesses.

Prior to Cardano, Bucher spent six years at Architas, the multi-manager arm of the Axa Group, ultimately as head of UK with responsibility for strategy, P&L, sales, marketing and proposition.

Following his departure, Architas promoted Sarah Ackland to head its UK fund range with sole responsibility for the commercial business.

Previously, Bucher also held senior commercial positions in the fund management business lines of SEI and Barclays Wealth.

Commenting on his role, Bucher said Hearthstone was the UK’s first specialist residential property fund manager and offers a strong heritage and an established performance record for advisers and their clients.

“I look forward to joining its team of residential property and financial services specialists and helping to grow the business and build assets under management.”
