Hawksmoor hires head of investment management from Charles Stanley

Dan Ellis also joins the Hawksmoor board

Hawksmoor Investment Management has appointed Dan Ellis as head of investment management.

Ellis joins from Charles Stanley, where he was director of investment management services. In the new role, he will lead the firm’s bespoke discretionary portfolio services across Hawksmoor and subsidiary Gore Browne.

He has previously held senior roles at HSBC Private Bank and RBC Wealth Management.

Hawksmoor CEO Sarah Soar said: “We are delighted to welcome Dan to Hawksmoor to fill such an important role within the firm. I have no doubt that his experience will prove invaluable within our investment management activities and as a member of the management committee.”

In addition, CIO and head of fund management Ben Conway has also been appointed to the Hawksmoor board, alongside investment solutions and distribution head Richard Pursglove.

Pursglove will also join the board of Metis Asset Management. Meanwhile, CFO Leighton Dunkley has stood down from all three boards.
