HANetf has launched the Arrow Bitcoin EUR Hedged ETC (EBTC), which provides euro-hedged exposure to bitcoin.

The ETC, which will have its currency hedging provided by HSBC, aims to reduce the impact of currency movements against the US dollar, for European investors who want to gain exposure to the asset class.

The launch is the world’s first euro-hedged crypto ETC, according to HANetf, and comes following a balloon in crypto-tracking ETC assets across Europe. As at the end of June 2026, some $12bn is held in crypto-tracking assets within the bloc, according to data from ETFBook.

HANetf already has other crypto ETCs under its belt, having co-launched the Bitwise Physical Bitcoin ETP in 2020, as well as Europe’s first leveraged and short cryptocurrency ETPs in Europe in 2025.

Hector McNeil, co-founder and co-CEO of HANetf, said: “With this launch, we are bringing the established logic of euro-hedged ETFs to the crypto market. Investors have long understood that currency movements can have a meaningful impact on returns on different asset classes, for example gold.

“Similar to gold, bitcoin is priced in US dollars, meaning European investors can end up taking two views at once: a view on bitcoin itself and a view on the dollar. There is currently over $300bn of AUM in currency hedged ETFs and ETCs in Europe and currency hedged crypto ETCs are conspicuous by their absence.”
