Anand, F&C’s head of European equities, will remain with the firm until the end of the year, before taking up his new role at Fidelity in 2012.
F&C will have a busy time finding his replacement as he is the lead manager on its European Growth & Income Fund and the European Assets Trust NV and also manages a portfolio within the Foreign & Colonial Investment Trust PLC. He has been with F&C since 1997.
Lewis will join Fidelity at the start of November and will manage the global emerging market and global equity portfolio management teams. He made his name at New Star Asset Management before its take-over by Henderson in 2009.
He was co-head of New Star Institutional Managers, responsible for a team of 15, which at its peak managed $12bn (£7.6bn) primarily in international equities for North American clients.
Both recruits will report to Dominic Rossi, chief investment officer, equities, who looks after the 60-strong European-based portfolio management team.
Rossi said: “Paras and Richard are experienced investors, who also have a strong track record in managing investment teams. This blend of expertise will ensure that we are able to create the best environment for success within the core area of UK and continental European equities as well as in the major growth area of global and emerging market equity investment.”
