Positioned by Enhance as a challenger to the Apcims benchmarks used by many wealth management firms as a measure of performance, the indices are offered across three risk profiles (lower, moderate and higher).

Back at the end of October, when the indices were launched, CEO of Jersey-based Enhance Group, Richard Sayers, said the Trustee Managed Portfolio Indices would provide powerful information about investment performance, risk and client suitability.

They have been offered as a service to Step’s 17,500 members, who are trustees, but can also be used by investment managers if they choose to submit data to Enhance.

Craig Allen, Head of Discretionary Investment for Credit Suisse Asset Management in the UK, Channel Islands and Gibraltar, said:
“We are delighted to have joined the Trustee MPI service as we know how valuable such a cost-effective resource it is to trustees and private client practitioners. The TMPI offers fiduciaries a clear and independent comparison of portfolio returns between investment managers which fits well with our long-established policy of transparent pricing and performance.

"Step and Enhance are well-known and well-respected in Jersey and further afield and we look forward to strengthening our existing links with fiduciaries through the TMPI.”

David Harvey, chief executive of Step, added that the support of such high calibre investment managers as he launched this new member service was highly valued.

“We expect this initiative to continue to grow as we have been overwhelmed by the positive response received from both Step members and the investment management community since we announced the provision of the service,” he said.
