Al Denholm is to take on a brand new managing director role as BlackRock grows its EMEA investment capability.

In this role, Denholm will be responsible for leading BMACS EMEA activities working closely with Michael Huebsch, managing director and global head of BMACS.

His main role will be to oversee the group’s four main functions – client strategy, solutions portfolio management, active asset allocation and research, and business management. He will take on direct responsibility for the active asset allocation and research team and serve on the BMACS management committee.
 
He joins from ING Investment Management where he was part of the team responsible for the firm’s activities in more than 20 countries.

Prior to joining ING IM in 2005, he was deputy chief investment officer of Insight Investment before which he ran the UK and US equities teams at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership.
