Rathbones Asset Management has hired Columbia Threadneedle’s co-head of UK distribution Steve Armitage (pictured) as part of a trio of distribution hires.
He spent 14 years at Columbia Threadneedle. At Rathbones, Armitage has been appointed as head of strategic partnerships and regional sales.
Rathbones has also appointed Sam Collett as head of London and global financial institutions. He joins from Franklin Templeton, where he was director, business development.
Together, the pair will will co-lead the Rathbones UK wholesale team, heading regional and London discretionary sales, respectively.
They will report to James Crossley, head of asset management distribution and Jayne Rogers, chief distribution officer for Rathbones Group.

Meanwhile, the firm has also hired Tom Hobbs from Vanguard Asset Management, who will serve as a business development manager for the West.
Commenting on the hires, Rogers said: “As we move forward with our strategic growth plans, it is crucial for us to attract and retain skilled and experienced professionals in our business.
“Our strategy for RAM will continue to focus on strengthening key relationships with advisers, as we build on our strategy to service discretionary and global financial institutions,” she added.
