Matthew Wright has been named head of country, UK, and will take on the role of developing relationships with distributors and wealth managers in the UK, reporting to Davide Fregonese, global head of sales and marketing.

The plan is to open a permanent office in London in November to offer a tailor-made client proposition rather than simply transferring a continental strategy into the UK market.

Wright will join from his position as head of sales at LV Asset Management, bringing experience with spells at Fidelity and UBS.

The sterling share class with distributor status for ten Carmignac Gestion funds was registered in the UK in January 2011. This gives UK investors access to global equity (Carmignac Patrimoine), global emerging market equity (Carmignac Emerging Patrimoine and Carmignac Emergents) and specialist funds such as Carmignac Commodités.
