Brown Shipley has hired Fabio Rinaldi as a business developer for its UK financial intermediaries (FIM) team.

Rinaldi joins from UBS Wealth Management where he spent the last 25 years, latterly as the UK team head of its global FIM business. At UBS WM he also served as a business developer in the global FIM division and a senior client adviser to high net worth individuals in Switzerland and the US.

Rinaldi will be based in Brown Shipley’s London office.

He is the latest hire for the UK FIM desk, which was created earlier this year to expand Brown Shipley’s services to external asset managers and family offices in the country. Philipp Iarmaltchouk was hired from Julius Baer in January to head up the new division, which is part of parent company Quintet’s Bank wider offering.

Commenting on the appointment, Iarmaltchouk said: “Quintet is an industry challenger that has a long-established business across Europe dedicated to serving financial intermediaries. We understand their unique requirements and place the utmost importance on transparency, guaranteeing independence and delivering performance.

“Together with our colleagues across Quintet, we will leverage our existing expertise and the knowledge and experience of Fabio and our UK team to grow our FIM offering in the UK.”

Rinaldi added: “I’m excited to join Brown Shipley to develop our FIM UK business. I look forward to working closely with Philipp and the team to build our offering, delivering on our ambitions with colleagues across Brown Shipley and Quintet.”
