Briarwood Partners, which provides outsourced business development services to investment boutiques, has hired Charles Jewkes as its head of liquid funds distribution.

Jewkes joins the firm having most recently worked at Aviva Investors, where he spent more than seven years – latterly as its global head of wealth and as a company director.

Prior to this, Jewkes was director of global financial institutions at Fulcrum Asset Management. He also spent 11 years at Schroders, where he founded the firm’s global intermediary insurance team.

In his new role, Jewkes will lead distribution for liquid funds and evergreen strategies across institutional investors, wealth managers and global financial institutions.

Ryan Durance, founder and managing director of Briarwood Partners, said: “Charles combines deep distribution experience, sound commercial judgement and a genuinely international network.

“Just as importantly, he shares our conviction that excellent distribution begins with selectivity, alignment and exceptional service. His appointment gives us additional leadership and focus as Briarwood enters its next phase.”

Jewkes added that Briarwood has built a “distinctive, highly aligned model”, and that he is “delighted to join at such an important point in its development”.

“My focus is straightforward: deliver exceptional service to our manager partners, connect differentiated liquid and evergreen strategies with the allocators for whom they are relevant, and build a disciplined distribution franchise with lasting value.

“I look forward to building alongside Ryan and the wider team, and to speaking with investment managers and professional allocators who share our belief in long-term partnership, relevance and delivery.”
