Sharpe joined the firm’s UK team on 8 December.
He will work remotely, reporting to Dorian Hughes, BlackRock’s head of regional sales. He replaced Nick Lumb, who left the firm earlier in the year.
Sharpe previously held a position as head of discretionary sales with BNY Mellon, and has more than 20 years’ experience in the UK intermediary market.
Jeremy Roberts, head of UK retail sales, said: “Having a local presence in each region is essential, not just for relationship purposes but so that we can provide hands-on support to our clients where needed.”
