Beaufort Investment has nabbed Credit Suisse’s head of discretionary portfolio management for London and the Channel Islands for its model portfolio service.
Richard Warne (pictured) joins the £1bn DFM as a fund manager and will manage the firm’s model portfolios and funds alongside CIO Shane Balkham and Cormac Nevin. Beaufort Investment launched its first multi-asset funds in July 2019.
Warne will focus specifically on equities, property and real assets manager research.
He had been at Credit Suisse for 19 years, running its flagship third-party mandates in a role that was both investment and client focused. Previously, he worked over three years at Citibank Global Asset Management.
Warne said in a press release announcing his appointment that Beaufort Investment is known across the industry for “the strength of its solutions and transparency of its service”.
Beaufort Investment chief executive Derrick Dunne said: “Having known and worked with Richard previously, it gives me great delight to welcome him aboard at this exciting time of growth for our business. Achieving our clients’ objectives is our number one priority. Richard adds further strength and depth to our skills and experience that will help us achieve this.”
In September, Beaufort Investment’s parent was acquired by advice industry consolidator Socium with the DFM arm highlighted as a particularly attractive part of the deal.
