Beaufort Financial has nabbed a new hire from Sanlam to replace the outgoing director of its North Wales firm.

Gwilym Lloyd Jones (pictured) will take over from managing director and founder Stephen Lyth, who will retire from Beaufort Financial St Asaph & Chester after more than 38 years in the financial planning industry.

Jones, 33, will work alongside Lyth’s wife, Gaynor Lyth, co-founder and senior partner, to shape the future development of the firm. He will also be responsible for the day-to-day running of the business.

He said he was drawn to Beaufort Financial St Asaph & Chester because he said it had “a culture firmly rooted around family values that are closely aligned with my own”. “I can’t wait to get started with this new challenge and look forward to working with Gaynor to capitalise on her and Stephen’s success.”

He joins from Sanlam, where he worked for over a decade, most recently as a financial planner. He is also a fellow of the Personal Finance Society.

Gaynor Lyth said it had been important to find a “like-minded” individual for the team. “Over the years, we have worked hard to build a reputation as a skilled team of local specialists who genuinely care about client outcomes.”
