The fund had been run most recently by the group's director of research Nigel Sillis. it was previously run by Sunita Kara, who left the group to join Aviva Investors in August of last year.

The fund had been a component fund for the multi-asset team, so internal money accounted for the majority of the assets. The multi-asset team has since diverted that money to a new structure, taking around three-quarters of the assets of the fund. Sillis will remain at the firm.

The Baring Multi-Asset fund currently has no dedicated investment grade corporate bond exposure, preferring high yield, developed and emerging market government bonds, and convertibles.

The fund had been going since 1998. According to Morningstar data, the fund had underperformed the wider GBP Corporate Bond category in four out the past five years. Performance had been better in more difficult markets, such as those of 2008 and 2011.
