Axa Investment Managers has named Catherine Tennyson as a healthcare portfolio manager.

She joins the firm from Point 72 Asset Management where she was a healthcare research analyst.

Based in London, Tennyson will be a co-lead manager on the firm’s healthcare equity range, comprising thematic strategies focusing on health, biotech, and longevity.

The hire comes one month after the announced departure of portfolio manager Linden Thomson, who previously managed the AXA IM Framlington Biotech fund. She joined Candriam as a senior fund manger to head up its biotechnology and oncology strategies on 19 February this year.

Tom Riley, Axa IM head of global thematic strategies, said: “I am delighted to welcome Catherine to our team. Her robust experience in healthcare equities will help Axa IM strengthen and develop its thematics capabilities.

“Her medical background, alongside her responsible investing experience, will be instrumental in the management and continued development of our healthcare related strategies and our broader global equity capabilities.”
