Artemis head of distribution Jasper Berens has exited the business with Greg Jones coming on board from Janus Henderson to replace him.

In a note to investors, seen by Portfolio Adviser, senior partner Mark Murray told investors Jones would join on 1 September. He had been head of distribution at Janus Henderson for Emea, Apac and Latin American until 2019.

Berens had been at Artemis just over two years, replacing Dick Turpin, who was retiring, in May 2018. Berens had previously been head of UK funds at JP Morgan Asset Management.

Jones joined Henderson in 2009 through its acquisition of New Star. He was a founder of the company’s UK investment funds business and managing director of New Star International Investment Funds.

He started his career in 1985 as a portfolio manager for part of Sedgwick Group, before moving into sales and management with Schroders, Morgan Grenfell and Aviva.

Murray said Jones’ reputation and record “speak for themselves”. “We are confident that, leading our distribution team and working with the whole business, he will help us to grow and continue to meet our clients’ needs in the UK, Europe and beyond.”
