Independent asset management boutique Amati Global Investors has named Tom Whitfield (pictured) as sales director, focussing on clients in London and the southeast of England.
Whitfield joins the firm having spent nearly four years at Sanlam Investments, where he was most recently an account director. He also held the roles of sales manager and sales support executive during his time at the company.
Prior to that, Whitfield worked at Brewin Dolphin in its London office, spending five of his seven years there in investment management, where he was part of a team managing discretionary and advisory client portfolios.
At Amati, Whitfield will work alongside London sales director Jon Woolley. The wider team is led by Colin Thomson, head of intermediary sales, and Rachel Le Derf, head of sales and marketing.
Amati founder and CEO Paul Jourdan said: “Growth in our professional intermediary client base, and the addition of two new fund propositions, made expansion of our sales team important for enabling us to continue delivering the high levels of service clients have come to expect, so we are delighted to welcome Tom to the team.”
The Edinburgh-based firm manages £935m as of 31 October, and invests mainly in UK small and mid-cap companies. One of Amati’s five strategies, the Strategic Innovation fund, was launched in May of this year.
