Boutique investment services firm Alquity Group has named two new hires to its global distribution team: Benjamin Lim as Asia sales director and Samuel Thomas Edgar as global product specialist, Portfolio Adviser can reveal.

In their new roles, Edgar will support the sales team’s engagement with clients across the fund range, while Lim will manage relationships with Alquity’s Asian clients and try to introduce the investment proposition to new clients.

Edgar joins after a seven-year stint at Baillie Gifford, where he served as client manager responsible for institutional clients, representing nearly $3bn of assets across Europe, North America and Australia. Previously at the Baillie Gifford team, he served as project manager, and before joining the team, he was a project manager at Sky Group.

Meanwhile, Lim brings more than 20 years of experience to his new role as Asia sales director and has previously held roles at firms such as Aviva Investors and Aberdeen Asset Management.

Florent Guy-Ducrot, head of sales at Alquity Group, commented: “We extend a warm welcome to Benjamin and Samuel.

“[Their] appointments will support existing clients while expanding our relationships in key markets and support Alquity’s growth, helping more investors access our investment capabilities and range of strategies.”
