Molica (pictured) will be responsible for developing and managing AJ Bell’s investment solutions, including its managed portfolio service and passive fund range. He will report to Ryan Hughes, head of fund selection.
Hughes said: “Simon’s experience in fund research and portfolio management makes him a perfect addition to the investment team at a time when we’re experiencing ever increasing demand for our investment solutions.”
Previously, Molica was a portfolio manager at Morningstar where he was responsible for a variety of investment solutions.
Molica commented: “I’m delighted to join AJ Bell’s investment team at such an exciting point in its development. I’m looking forward to working with the team to grow both the investment solutions we offer and our presence in the fund management market.”
The hire follows last week’s appointment of Kevin Doran as chief investment officer and Matthew Brennan as fund manager.
