Aberdeen Investments has appointed Caroline Hertrich as head of UK & EMEA ETF strategy, a newly created role within the firm amid efforts to grow its ETF franchise.
In her new role, she will be responsible for “translating Aberdeen’s global ETF ambitions” into the UK and EMEA regions. Working with the investment, product and distribution teams, she will drive growth, client engagement and future ETF capabilities across the region.
Commenting on the appointment, Hertrich said she was “delighted” to join the firm.
“The European ETF market is entering an exciting phase of development, particularly within active ETFs, where investors are increasingly seeking differentiated investment ideas delivered through flexible and accessible structures.
“I look forward to contributing my experience across the full ETF and funds value chain as we build for the future.”
Hertrich has almost 15 years of experience across ETFs, index investing and investing solutions, having previously worked at Bloomberg as an index sales lead.
Before that, she held senior leadership positions at firms such as FTSE Russell and BlackRock, among others.
Steve Dunn, global head of ETFs at Aberdeen, added: “Europe is at an earlier stage of its ETF journey than the US, but there is growing interest, particularly in active strategies.
