At the same time, Thu Ha Chow is to move from Aberdeen AM’s London office to Singapore as a senior credit analyst.

As well as overseeing credit research in the region, Macgregor will also work with the firm’s Australian and global fixed income teams to co-ordinate ideas across the business.

He joins from Aviva Investors Asia in Singapore, where he was a senior vice president in charge of Asian credit research. Macgregor held similar roles with Moody’s and Deutsche Asset Management.

Chow’s appointment takes the Singapore team to ten investment professionals covering currency and credit, complimenting 12 in Sydney and five fixed income managers in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo.

Her role is to focus on proprietary credit research covering issuers in Asia.

Anthony Michael, head of Asian fixed income, for Aberdeen in Singapore comments: “While we have had a successful few years raising assets in Asian fixed income, we recognise we need to keep up with market developments and remain ahead of our competitors. The universe of Asian credits is expanding all the time.”
